{{Quick Dec 2021 update: we're finally actively working on a proper website for me... look for it soon!}}

My name is Vicki and I own Handmade Jewelry By Vicki. For over twenty five years I have been a jewelry artist and maker, professionally trained with multiple certifications from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

My style is a bit different in that I have taken the traditional style strung pearls and beads and updated it by removing the string and replacing it with decorative wire wrapping. It is Classic Elegance With A Twist!

In my jewelry you will only find gemstones and precious metals. There is no crystal, glass, clay, or imitations. While common gemstones are pretty, I love to work with uncommon gemstones, such as chalcedony, mookite, dumortierite, and prehnite. Pearls, coral, and amber (organic gemstones) are throughout my work as are the four precious stones - diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires. Typically I do my work in sterling silver though I occasionally work with gold and platinum. I make pendants, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and ankle bracelets. Because of my range of work, my range of prices vary greatly. In 2017 I was asked a number of times, while applying to shows, about my prices. Using my current (mid 2021) and historical prices, pendants range from $11 to $46, earrings $12 to $227, bracelets $9 to $182, necklaces $22 to $231, and ankle bracelets $13 to $81. This only counts work that incorporates silver, so no gold or platinum was used in these calculations.

Other things I do are:
* Custom jewelry. You tell me what you're looking for and I'll make it if I can. Historically, you would start with color, say black and pink, or maybe you would be very specific with gemstones. I've even had people specify bead shapes first, then color. Then I'd make some mock ups and share them, or their photo's, with you. You would say what you like or don't like, and we'd keep going, fine tuning the piece until you say it's perfect.

* Repair beaded jewelry.

* Repurposing. I take your beaded jewelry, typically they are broken or out of style, and make brand new pieces with them. You and I would decide together whether new beads would be added for design or by necessity.

Besides this page, my husband put up a web page that I use to help jury for new shows. There are some photos there of my work, which are typically some of the newer pieces I've made. That page is here. That page also contains my upcoming show schedule.
